Before
I am Nalutaaya Florence, and I am 53 years old. I live in Kisaasi, which is a Ugandan suburb of Kampala. I'm a survivor of breast cancer.
2012 saw the onset of my breast cancer, but it wasn't discovered until 2014 during a biopsy at Capstone Hospital in Nankulabye, Kampala. At that point, they verified I had stage 3 breast cancer. At that time, Mr. Cuthbert Baguma and Mrs. Lillian Baguma were of enormous assistance to me, as I was very destitute. I used to spend a lot of time in their house, and Ms. Aidah Nanyanzi would then drive me to the hospital.
Upon confirmation of the cancer, I had surgery to remove the interior portion of my breast. I was then put on chemotherapy for six months at the end of 2014. My hair, nails, and several of my teeth broke as a result of the severe side effects of the chemotherapy. By God's grace, nevertheless, I was able to overcome them.
I was given swallowable tablets (Tamoxifen) to take after the six rounds of chemotherapy, and I did so for a few years. I was advised to eat only very healthy foods, such as fruits and vegetables, during this time. In order to deal with the side effects of chemotherapy, I also needed psychotherapy. During this difficult period, Mr. Cuthbert's family and Aidah paid my hospital fees in addition to providing these services. They have my sincere gratitude.
Even though Ms. Aidah lives far away from Uganda, she constantly calls to check on me and sends help for my maintenance and occasionally for my children's school expenses. I'm very attached to this. I was told to be checked out every three months, and then later, every six months, which is how I continue to this day.
After a follow-up test on December 6, 2022, I was deemed cancer-free. More recently, on January 9, 2024, medical professionals from the Uganda Cancer Institute performed an ultrasound scan and verified my recovery. I think cancer can be cured by praying and having faith in God's word. I express my gratitude to Destined To Win International Ministry's church family for their unwavering love and support.
God bless you!
